As a co-founder of Tesla and one of the richest people in the world, Musk is known for sharing his thoughts online, making him a figure that people either love or hate.

The owner of X and Amber Heard, who is Johnny Depp’s former wife and an actress recognized for her roles in movies like Aquaman and The Rum Diary, started dating in 2017 but ended their relationship the next year.

However, when Musk decided to post a personal photo of Heard on his social media platform, previously known as Twitter, he faced backlash from both critics and supporters.

One individual criticized Musk’s action, stating: “The things we deem OK or not OK is amusing.

“Most of us flex on the timeline in some shape or form, this one just happens to be… well, kind of extraordinary tbh.”

Another person made a joke: “This is why you can’t keep a girl, Elon.”

Another comment read: “Sorta goes without saying but Elon Musk tweeting out a photo of Amber Heard in cosplay for his weird fanboys to drool over is f***ing disgusting.”

A fourth individual hoped: “Hopefully this was approved by her… we don’t need another controversy.”

According to the tech mogul’s biography, ‘Elon Musk’ by Walter Isaacson, the couple initially bonded over their work.

Heard surprised Musk at the Tesla factory in California for his birthday, and he visited her on the set of Aquaman in Australia.

Shortly after their separation, Musk spoke positively of Heard.

On Instagram, he shared: “Although Amber and I did break up, we are still friends, remain close and love one another.

“Long distance relationships when both partners have intense work obligations are always difficult, but who knows what the future holds.”

His biography, however, paints a different picture of their relationship.

Isaacson describes the relationship as ‘agonizing.’

MailOnline highlights that the biographer asserts Heard ‘drew [Musk] into a dark vortex that lasted more than a year and produced deep-seated pain that lingers to this day. It was brutal.’

Regarding Heard’s view on their relationship?

“I love him very much,” she states in the revealing biography. “Elon loves fire, and sometimes it burns him.”

MailOnline, in coverage of Musk’s biography, notes:

“[Musk] told [Heard] that she reminded him of Mercy, his favorite character in the video game Overwatch.

“So she spent two months designing and commissioning a head-to-toe costume so she could role-play for him.”

Responding to a tweet about the situation, Musk commented: “She did dress up as Mercy. It was awesome.”

The controversial image, which is now deleted, was taken when they were still together and shows Heard in cosplay, a hobby involving dressing up as characters from films, books, or video games.

In the disputed photo, the Zombieland star appears in a white costume with a halo, wings, and suspenders, looking down at the camera.

Page Six reports that Musk did not have Heard’s permission to share the photo.

A source close to the actress reportedly told the publication that the photo was supposed to remain ‘private.’
