For years, Rymir Satterthwaite has asserted that Jay-Z is his biological father.
The man who believes he is Jay-Z’s son has publicly reached out once again, urging the rapper to undergo a DNA test. Rymir Satterthwaite has been vocal about his claim for years, seeking a definitive resolution to the matter.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has been married to global superstar Beyoncé since 2008, and they share three children together.
In 2023, Rymir escalated his efforts by taking his case to the Supreme Court, hoping legal action would compel Jay-Z to take a paternity test.
Rymir’s battle began in 2010 when his late mother, Wanda, filed a legal petition in Pennsylvania, asking the court to mandate that Jay-Z submit to a DNA test to confirm whether he was Rymir’s biological father. Wanda alleged that she had a brief relationship with Jay-Z in 1992 while she was in an on-and-off relationship with another man, Robert Graves.
Robert was one of the two men mentioned in Wanda’s 2010 court filing. However, after taking a paternity test, the results confirmed that he was not Rymir’s father.
With Robert ruled out, Wanda and Rymir have continued their pursuit of having Jay-Z take the test, hoping to finally get clarity on the situation.
According to Rymir, Jay-Z’s legal team has consistently worked to prevent the rapper from undergoing a paternity test, a resistance he claims has persisted since the initial court filing over a decade ago.
In a renewed appeal, Rymir is once again calling on Jay-Z to agree to the test and put the issue to rest. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he stated, “I want to resolve this and get this matter done. I really do. I don’t want any money. I just want the truth.”
When asked what he would say to Jay-Z if given the opportunity, he replied: “Honestly, I don’t have anything against you. I just feel like we could get this resolved. I was never chasing you for fame. I just really want to resolve this. This could all be settled with one simple test.”
“I just want it over with. This is something that is really affecting my life, and I just want it concluded. My mom passed away during this case, and I feel like I have unfinished business.”
Wanda, who was only 16 when she became pregnant with Rymir, sadly passed away in 2019.
