Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have lost their home in the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
Spencer Pratt has announced that he plans to sue the state of California after he and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The couple’s home was one of thousands destroyed by the relentless fires that have ravaged the area.
At least 11 people have tragically lost their lives in the fires, which have destroyed more than 10,000 homes and other buildings. The ongoing destruction has left entire communities in despair as families grapple with the loss of their homes and belongings.
Officials have confirmed that at least six fires are still burning, with the most recent one, named the Archer fire, continuing to spread uncontrollably after igniting on Friday, January 10.
The fires have displaced thousands of families, including Pratt, Montag, and their young son. According to sources close to TMZ, the couple’s Los Angeles home was completely destroyed after catching fire earlier in the week on Tuesday, January 7.
Fortunately, the family was able to evacuate in time and reach safety before the blaze consumed their property. The tragedy has left them, like many others, with nothing but the clothes they could carry and memories of what was lost.
On Friday, January 10, Pratt revealed his intention to file a lawsuit against the state of California, accusing officials of negligence that he believes contributed to the destruction of their home.
In an interview with Perez Hilton, the former reality star explained how he called on the Los Angeles Fire Department for assistance as his home burned, but was met with a lack of response.
He described the incident, saying: “They never came. The gate was still locked. They never came. I watched from my security cameras until our house burned down. There were no fire trucks.”
During a desperate 911 call, Pratt reportedly urged the fire brigade to send help in an effort to prevent the fire from spreading further. He explained that firefighters could potentially stop the flames from destroying the surrounding area.
However, Pratt claims he was told by emergency services that they lacked the necessary resources to respond effectively. This response has fueled his frustration and driven his decision to pursue legal action.
On Thursday, January 9, Pratt shared an emotional video of himself returning to the remains of his Los Angeles home. Walking through the ashes and debris, he documented the aftermath for his followers.
“Good news, my pot that I made all the humming bird nectar survived. Look at this. Some nectar still in there for the hummers,” he shared on Snapchat, trying to find small glimpses of positivity amid the devastation. “That’s good news.”
He also pointed out fragments of their belongings, saying: “We got what’s left of a humming bird feeder! That’s positive.”
While walking through the rubble, Pratt spotted a small piece of rose quartz and remarked: “There’s my rose quartz. That’s cool,” He added with determination: “Definitely going to keep this.”
Sharing his heartbreak over the incident, Pratt turned to TikTok to express the overwhelming emotions he’s been experiencing. He told his followers: “When your house burns down and you have nothing, your parents’ house burns down, and they have nothing.”
His vulnerability shone through as he admitted: “Obviously, I’m in shock. My brain’s not functioning, I think this is the most unhinged post you’ve seen.”
