Escaping the daily grind is great, but for pet owners, leaving their furry friends behind isn’t ideal. Thankfully, Virgin Airlines is planning to make it easier for customers to travel with their pets. By next year, the airline hopes to allow pets in the cabin, a first for Australia.
In a press release titled “Cats out the Bag,” Virgin Airlines shared their goal to let pets travel alongside their owners, following a 2021 survey showing 85% support for the idea. CEO Jayne Hrdlicka expressed excitement about offering this service, highlighting that it aligns with Virgin Australia’s values.
The airline promises this service won’t affect the free travel of assistance animals and will include small dogs and cats in approved carriers under seats.
Details on the fee structure and allergy considerations are being worked out to ensure a seamless experience for all passengers.
